We will be going over a very trending social media platform called TikTok, we will be discussing what it is exactly & what we think 2020 will bring for TikTok. We will also be giving out our opinion on whether it is for Influencers only or if can be used as a tool by Brands & Business's too.
What is TikTok?
TikTok which used to be Musically is essentially a short form video sharing app, which allows it's users to edit, create & publish 15 second videos on any topic. It allows the users to view what is Trending giving them the opportunity to become TikTok Famous really quick.
Is TikTok the new Facebook? Instagram? Snapchat? Twitter?
The simple answer is no, TikTok is neither Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or Twitter. The bases of this new social platform are very different to what the other platforms offer, meaning Tiktok does not have a user interface for photo's or texts. It is simply a new type of a social communication which only focuses on 15 second videos right now.
We must say that TikTok has been downloaded more than 500 Million times! So it is a possibility that it could take over some social platforms but as of now it is a very unlikely. If Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat & Twitter do not catch up or evolve to what the younger audience wants, then it is possible they could lose in this big social game.
Is it only for Influencers? Brands? or both?
TikTok is a great place to grab attention. Keep in mind the videos only last 15 seconds, so the content should be quick, easy to understand, rememberable & entertaining. Keeping this is in mind, it is as great for Influencers as it is for Brands. The famous Brand Guess used a great strategy very recently, where they published a challenge to their audience which included a hashtag which was #inmydenim. This is a great strategy to increase Brand Awareness & Brand Authority.
So what is our final verdict?
TikTok is a great place to be, it has very high chances of succeeding & could potentially help you in the long run. This is only if you start now.
